Before beginning tutoring, I recommend a diagnostic assessment so lessons are targeted to exactly where your child needs help. I offer two separate diagnostics for students PreK–5th grade:
Reading — covers phonics, fluency, and comprehension | $25
Math — covers foundational skills through 5th grade concepts | $25
Each diagnostic is adaptive, so it takes as long as your child needs — typically 15 minutes to an hour per subject. You’ll receive a summary of results to guide how much tutoring your child needs and where to focus.
Learn to Read
We start with learning the alphabet, and the sounds each letter makes. We will gradually introduce more phonics and practice reading with easy decodable books when your student is ready. This class is perfect if your student:
- is pretending to read books
- is paying attention during story time
- can retell a story you just read
Reading Intervention
We start with filling in any gaps your student may have. At the same time, we will practice fluency, and comprehension. I guarantee your student will improve at least one grade level within 8-12 weeks. This class is perfect if your student:
- lacks confidence when reading
- gets frustrated or bored when reading
- grades are falling
Math Intervention
From counting and number sense to fractions and multi-step word problems, math tutoring meets your student right where they are. Sessions cover PreK through 5th grade and are fully customized based on your child’s diagnostic results.
This class is perfect if your student:
- Struggles to keep up with grade-level math
- Has gaps from previous grades
- Needs a confidence boost before moving forward
Homeschool
Need a full curriculum or just help in a few subjects? Sessions are customized to your child’s level and can cover:
